“What does it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul?”

Award winning Box Tale Soup (Northanger Abbey, Casting the Runes) present Oscar Wilde’s haunting story of evil, debauchery and scandal, featuring puppetry and a powerful original soundtrack.

A brand new adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s only novel. In Box Tale Soup‘s signature style, the production features just two performers with puppetry and entirely original music.

As with their other award winning adaptations, Box Tale Soup remain as faithful to the original work as possible, taking much of the dialogue verbatim from the novel. Through their collaboration with the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library (UCLA), they have also had access to Wilde’s original manuscripts, which have afforded them a wonderfully unique insight into Wilde’s personal intentions for the novel’s interpretation.

This production has been commissioned by the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library (UCLA).
