Giving back in Clapham

Ace of Clubs

Typically, 180 people come to Ace each day for food, but they also here to help in other ways. If you get chatting to someone, you might be the only person to ask how they’re doing this month. Their friendly team of volunteers always create a welcoming, friendly environment for their guests and for each other. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to meet kind, genuine people of all ages and from all backgrounds, who like you, want make a positive difference in the local community. Bandstand Beds

Founded in 2013 by a handful of keen gardeners with the aim of providing an opportunity for people to get outdoors, discover the joys of growing food and connect with nature. Not only will you learn a host of new skills, meet likeminded people you are helping to keep this great community project to keep running and bringing fresh produce to local people. Friends of Clapham Common

Friends of Clapham Common work to protect and improve Clapham Common as an active environmental group of some 700 members. They run projects to improve the biodiversity of the Common, running many planting days, litter picking and fundraising days, you can support your local community in keeping our Common beautiful. Charity Shops around Clapham

We have many Charity shops along our High Street with some such as Trinity giving directly back to Trinity Hospice in Clapham which provides end of life care to individuals and their families. you can donate clothing or offer a few hours a week to help in your local store. If the company leaves the area we may keep some information that we hold as long as we consider necessary based on any laws applicable. Any information you provide to us is kept in our active file for 6 months – After 6 months it is moved to a dormant state – After 12 months it is deleted from our systems We use Active records for some or all of the activities detailed in the section above – ‘What do we use your information for?’ If we have recorded no positive activity from you after 6 months your record will become dormant If there is no positive activity from you within 12 months we will delete your records Positive activity means that you open, read, interact with either the website or through any of the communication methods we use to contact you. It is our responsibility to be able to demonstrate this positive activity and if we cannot then your details will become dormant and eventually be deleted.
