Clapham Footfall Data 2024

Data provided by Clapham BID partners Huq.io shows an increase in footfall within the Clapham BID footprint compared to 2023 and 2022. In 2024 footfall was reported at 29.7 million people, up from 27.3 million people in 2023 and 26.9 million people in 2022.

The data shows that 2024 was a more consistent year for footfall with fewer peaks and troughs throughout the year, particularly in the first three quarters. Q4 in 2024 was not as strong as the 2023 Q4 with 96% of the 2023 footfall being retained.

 

 

In 2024 the busiest day in Clapham was Saturday with an average of 98,479 visitors and the quietest day was Monday with 73,537 visitors with a noteable reduction in morning commuter movements. The busiest weekday was Friday, however, Thursday nights now have a higher footfall count than Fridays between the hours of 8pm and 10pm.

As expected the High Street has the highest density of visitors and densities reduce away from the centre. The highest footfall density in 2024 was located between Venn Street and Nelson Road with a concentration around Sainsburys. Other visible high densities are around Clapham North Tube Station and in Clapham Old Town.
