Trinity opens new casual dining Upstairs

Trinity has been at the heart of Clapham Old Town since 2006 offering modern British-European food. Trinity have recently undergone a refurbishment and extension to the upstairs completed in October this year.

Trinity has received outstanding reviews from The evening Standard, The Telegraph and Hot Dinners and continues to score highly on sites such as bookatable.com and trip advisor.

We asked Adam Byatt, the owner of Trinity, for a brief look back on his journey in Clapham and what the future holds…

Why did you open your business in Clapham and how do you feel it has changed?

I opened Thyme in Clapham back in 2001 on Clapham Park road way before small plates become fashionable! Then went on to open Trinity in 2006, followed by Bistro Union in 2010. I love the area and the local community seemed to enjoy our food and hospitality. It felt like a natural progression to open a further restaurant above Trinity (upstairs) which would cater for the growing trend towards casual dining. Our guests are incredible and so loyal but we have worked hard to gain their trust and patronage over the years, I believe they value the reinvestment we have made in their restaurant. Elements of Clapham have changed for the better particularly The Old Town and Abbeville road and certainly its reputation as a food destination is growing which is great!

Why does Trinity’s unique offer work so well in Clapham?

Trinity works well in Clapham and has a proven track record for the past 10 years, guests clearly want a sophisticated dining room to use for special occasions and we offer that. The Old Town regeneration scheme has improved the area greatly and with alfresco dining now an option for us and others we can hopefully generate a wider high end dining appeal.
